Hello and welcome to Drum Journey! My name is David Johannes and I am a hand drummer, musician and lover of world music living in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. This site has been created to share my love of rhythm and hand drumming with the drumming community (read more below).

David Johannes - Musician and Percussionist I have experience with playing djembe/ashiko (Africa), kpanlogo/ewe set (Ghana), dununs (African bass drums), tabla (India), tabla/sumbati/doumbek (Egypt), frame drum and community drum (Native American) as well as an assortment of other percussion instruments. Prior to hand drumming I had played bass guitar for many years in local performances. Some of my playing experiences have included leading drum circles, African drumming, drumming for bellydance performances, supporting acoustic music performances, kirtan drumming/singing, peforming live with Crystal Journey and shamanic drumming in healing circles. In my home studio I compose and record my personal music projects with live drums, vocals and synthesizers.
